Established in Sydney in 1990, I am a passionate goldsmith actively engaged in designing and producing unique and fabulous jewellery. For over 30 years I have created personalised items of jewellery which reflect my technical and creative expertise as well as the personality and desires of my clients.
My fascination with an attraction to precious metals and gemstones is endless. The tactile and visual beauty of gemstones is often a starting point for my imagination. In-House Jewellery CAD Service
Design to completion
At Mario B Jewellery, we offer an in-house jewellery CAD (Computer Aided Design) service that transforms imagination into form. This is where your ideas begin to breathe, whether you’re dreaming up a bespoke engagement ring, reinterpreting a treasured heirloom, or envisioning something entirely new.
With the artistry of CAD technology, we create intricate 3D models that allow you to see your design from every angle before it’s brought to life. It’s a process that invites you to shape each detail, refine every curve, and truly make the piece your own.
Our designers will initially create a 3D image. Once the design has been approved we can then print a 3D resin model as a try on sample. If no further changes are required then we will start the production process.
Because our design process is handled entirely in-house, we work closely with you at every stage blending precision with creativity and ensuring a seamless journey from concept to creation.

What is bespoke?
It’s a distinctive and thrilling journey where the customer is involved from the start, maintaining full control over the design process in collaboration with us, resulting in a bespoke item tailored specifically for you.
The Bespoke Process
1. Consultation:
A scheduled appointment must be arranged to discuss your custom jewellery project. During our meeting, we will delve into your initial ideas and preferences regarding the type of jewellery you currently own and your personal tastes. It’s essential for you to feel comfortable expressing your personality freely during this consultation. As experienced jewellery stylists, we can suggest designs that align with your unique style, regardless of current trends. Our goal is to guide you in making informed decisions and achieving your vision for the piece you desire.
We’ll discuss the design, materials, and get an overview of your budget. If you have any existing items that you’d like to incorporate into your bespoke piece, please bring them along for your initial visit. Depending on the complexity, we may need to meet a few times to finalise the design and ensure we fully understand your requirements before providing a detailed quote for our custom jewellery service. Once you’re satisfied with this phase, we’ll request a deposit to proceed with the next steps of creating your piece.
2. Design:
Once the project details are finalised, we will commence the design phase. This may include producing several hand-drawn sketches to help visualise the concept. If needed, we can also create a 3D rendering for your review (please note any adjustments to these drawings are included at this stage). Once the design is confirmed, we will provide you with a more precise cost estimate. Upon your approval, we will proceed with the production of your custom piece.
3. Manufacturing :
Once the design is finalised and you have confirmed your decision to proceed, we will commence the manufacturing process. This involves crafting the metal components, acquiring all required materials, and beginning the handmade procedures until the piece is set and finished. We offer various manufacturing methods for creating your jewellery, which we will discuss thoroughly during our meeting to help you choose the approach that best fits your preferences and budget.
4. Progress inspections :
We will keep you informed and invite you to visit the studio as needed, providing you with updated progress on your cherished piece, including a fitting session. Once you confirm complete satisfaction, we will proceed with setting all necessary gemstones. This approach ensures transparency and peace of mind, ensuring that we meet and exceed your expectations.
5. Finishing :
The final step involves completing the jewellery piece, which includes polishing, optional rhodium plating, and conducting a thorough quality control check before its release.
6. Pick up :
Once your jewellery has been impeccably finished and is ready to wear, we will welcome you back to our boutique to collect your custom piece, ensuring your utmost satisfaction.
My husband, Bruce, wanted to give me something special for my 60th. I kinda knew what I wanted so went to Mario (he had done magic with damaged rings previously) and now he has Lavana with him. I was describing what I wanted; a simple heart pendant with the birthstones of Bruce, our 2 sons and myself. Whilst I was talking Lavana was scribbling away and both were asking questions. I felt so at ease. I am not a tall person so I did not want it large to be overpowering. Mario and Lavana understood all this and helped determine where I wanted it to sit, the length and size of chain and what would suit me for gemstones (showing samples all the time). I received designs from Lavana via Mario so Bruce and I could choose which suited my dream best. When we went to do testing both Mario and Lavana were so good. No problem if I changed anything but I didn’t need to as it was made as I envisiged (scary when I saw it as I had not seen anything unpolished)! The finished product is exquisite and exactly what I wanted. Friends often comment on it especially when I say what it represents. Dealing with professionals who were friendly, experts in their crafts, willing to go outside the box and understanding that we were there to get their help made this purchase so much easier and pleasant than I thought it would be. I would highly recommend Mario B Jewellery to anyone looking to have anything made or even repairing precious pieces at home. Mario is a true craftsman and with Lavana’s amazing designing skills; you cannot go wrong.
